Your Reverse DNS looks bogus
Here is the deal: much spam comes from computers that have viruses. To help combat that, MonkeyBrains blocks email sent directly
from dialup, dsl, and cable connections. There are 2 ways you can remedy this:
- FIX YOUR REVERSE DNS
Running your own mail server? Fix your reverse DNS - your computer is resolving to a hostname something like this:
- biz.rr.com
- dialup.zonnet.nl
- cable.mindspring.com
- ipt.aol.com
- res.rr.com
- dsl.att.net
- dsl.mtry03.pacbell.net
- dsl.speakeasy.net
Contact your ISP and request that they change your reverse DNS to a domain name you own.
This is a common request to ISPs and they can do this for you.
- USE A PROPER SMTP SERVER
Send mail through your ISP -
set your outgoing mail (SMTP) server to whatever your ISP tells you to... for
example, mail.pacbell.net.
If none of this made any sense, contact technical support at your work or your home ISP!
If this pages makes sense to you and you are still having trouble, feel free to contact
support AT monkeybrains.net ... note: your mail will still bounce if you send mail from a computer with lousy reverse DNS.
Good luck!
